ENGLISH ROCKETS INCLUDES seven IMPORTANT ELEMENTS:

 

CONVERSATION - READING - SPELLING - VOCABULARY - GRAMMAR - WRITING - PRESENTATION

 

Conversation is the most important part of language acquisition, it is also the easiest to acquire.  Our programme includes lively and fun conversation in every lesson.  Not only natural conversation is practised, specific skills are also targeted in each and every new lesson.

 

Reading is the most important part of practical language usage.  Reading leads to confidence and confidence leads to fearless exploration of a language through self discovery.  Our programme contains reading practice in every lesson.

 

Spelling is a necessary component of writing.  Poor spelling skills can lead to slow writing skill acquisition.  Therefore learning the secrets of spelling well is an important part of language learning. Our programme teaches the most important 29 spelling rules as well as other strategies.  The students learn the reasons why certain words are spelt in similar ways and why others do not seem to follow the familiar patterns.

 

Vocabulary are the building blocks of any language. Students with deep vocabulary stores to draw upon are always able to communicate more effectively via conversation and writing.  Vocabulary is not only introduced in the English Rockets programme, the new words are immediately used in practice as well.

 

Grammar is very important because it represents the set of instructions in which the language is assembled.  Students that have gained better grammar skills are easily identified amongst a group of mediocre students.  The English Rockets programme parallels the Hong Kong Education Department grammar curriculum for continuity. 

 

Writing - The English Rockets programme teaches proper planning and idea mapping as well as correct writing structure.  All compositions are written, corrected by the teacher and rewritten into a final copy form. 

 

Presentation - The English Rockets programme teaches students how to formally present short compositions to others.  By starting public speaking exercises early on students of the English Rockets programme learn to me more relaxed and confident while speaking publicly.
